In July, the celebration is never overshadowed by Christmas. I think it's July 25th but I might be wrong.

Come on. It is December 24th, 1861. In 1926 Santa was 65 and made his premier appearance. That is why you will never see a picture of Santa before 1926. His father, St. Nick was written about in 1822, Twas the Night Before Christmas, although St. Nick was delivering Christmas presents much earlier than that date.

Saint Nicholas, the Archbishop of Myra in Asia Minor (now Demre, Turkey) and popularly accepted as the personage on whom Santa Claus is base was born around the year 304. No month or date was given in my source.
