If he keeps going he'll catch up (catch down?) to his daddy. Bush 41 hit a low of about a 28 or 29%.
Inevitably one of the other answers dismissed the reliability of opinion polls. That person apparently A, doesn't know how polls work and B, doesn't know the reputation of Zogby. I guess that person thinks Bush is really at an 80% approval rating but that the liberal media is suppressing that information.
UPDATE = ynotgayle is forgetting something. No president has been as constantly hammered as Clinton and his numbers never went below 50% in his second term.

Because the sleeping giant (America) is slowly awakening to the real issues. The team that helped get Bush into the White House are real geniuses for duping the average Joe into thinking Bush really represents them. He should be impeached, put on trial in the World Court for crimes against humanity. I have high respect for the Office of the President, but no tolerance for someone who thinks himself a King and we his pawns.
....and, hmmm....the word "narcissist" pretty much sums it up.

If I tell you you are ugly over and over and over eventually you 'll start to believe you are ugly. The network media hates conservatism therefore they tell you all the bad things over and over even if they aren't true.. Wallace is a good example. Even thought they document he used to make Bush look like he got light treatment in the military was false the media continued to portray it as real for a full year after the fact. Even today MR Wallace stands by his story. The media continues to talk about how bad the economy is yet we are better now than when Clinton was in office. Stocks high interest low and lowest un-emp in 50 years. go figure....

There is not one person answering this question here would have a high poll number if you had to put with 6 years of the media bashing, second guessing, and criticizing the president. The pope himself would not have a positive rating with this amount of vitriol.

That would depend on who is doing the polling and where they
are doing it, plus how the questions are worded.
I'm sure that if I polled the people on the street where I live,
I would not be able to find one person who had anything good to
say about President Bush.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.
Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!!!!!

Because he continues to resist any new direction in Iraq. Because he is clearly stubborn, full of self-pride, and is in denial. He created a mess he doesn't know how to clean up, yet is unwilling to take other's advice on how to do so. I don't know when we've had a more dangerous man sitting in the Oval Office.

Because doing what is right in this day and age seems to garner hatred. The measure of a man in my opinion is what decision he makes when he thinks nobody is watching him. It's tougher to do what you consider is right when the eyes of the whole world are on you.

I think more people would like him if he tried adding some dance steps and tricks to his comedy routine.

And did you know I don't care, since I believe approval polls are rigged to get the answer the polling place is looking for.
