Blank Blu-Ray media at the moment holds 25Gb. This is half of what a Blu-Ray movie can have because blank Blu-Ray media at the moment is only single layer and the movies can be dual layer. Eventually, you'll see dual layer blank media as well.

You can get blank Blu-Ray discs at Best Buy. One 25Gb disc costs $21. You can find these in bigger packs and for cheaper on various internet websites. You can also get the Blu-Ray burner drive at Best Buy for $750. These will support the dual layer rewritable discs when they come out.

25Gb in terms of songs? Well mp3's encoded at 128k/sec are typically about 1Mb per minute. That means you can get over 26,000 minutes of music onto one Blu-Ray disc, or over 18 days of non-stop music! That's a lot of music!

I was just reading about this in a mag on a plane. I believe the answer is 50 GB. They have a lot more storage room than HD DVDs. As far as quality......I guess it depends. Blue-Ray has a larger variety of movies out right now than HD. The article said it will be hard to tell which will be better since they're both new. To me, it sounds like a race in the disc war....kinda like Beta vs VHS tapes back in the day.
