neproxin, ibeuprofen, and all those things only make the blood flow heavier so dont take those .. trust me on that you'll only regret taking them ...
a heating pad helps alot and get some featherd pillows too so you can lay on them .. the are a little pricie but oh well they are great for sleep ^_^ and birthcontrol should help with that too or at least make it shorter. Im getting myself some birthcontrol after the first of the year for cramps ..
anyways ... feathered pillows = comfort for back and stomache Heating pad = relaxed cramps and birthcontrol = shorter periods! YAY! lol those are really the only things that work nowadays
hoped my advice helped you out some good luck

Heating pad or a hot water bottle along with something hot to drink, anything like tea or cocoa. Also try ibprofen or any menstral otc ( over the counter) medication. Take the medicine as directed. I use midol it works like a charm.

well, my period was really heavy, and my mom finally took me to a doctor, and i got on birth control pills. it took a while, but i finally found the right one for me. sometimes my cramps were so bad [before i was taking birth control pills], that i would throw up. ibuprofen and heating pad at times helped. usually, if nothing else helped, i would just go to sleep. that definitely helped lessen the pain. i don't really know what else to suggest besides birth control pills. it sounds like your menstrual cramps were the same as mine. all i can suggest to you is birth control pills---besides cutting down how heavy my period was, the birth control pills also cut down on my menstrual cramps, and the time period that my periods last. i've been on them, since i was about 15 or 16. now i'm 19, and doing great!

Well first of all, I'm no expert but figure out whats causing them, except for the obvious. Stress maybe? Heating pad, hot bath, those portable heating pads that stick on the inside of your panties that go right on your stomach, midol, pamprin(personally this is better), or just advil or tylenol. Just some suggestions.

I suck on slices of ginger, you can even use candied ginger. It is very settling to the stomach (great for motion sickness), but you have to like the flavor. Also, hot chamomile tea, warm milk, a lower back massage, walking and trying to focus on something positive helps me. Good luck!

Being a guy I cant tell you from experience, but being married to a lovely lady - I can give some insight.
Maybe the last thing anyone on their period wants to do is go for a run, but exercise is one of the best ways to relieve menstrual discomfort ! ... tried that one yet ? :)

Aleve (sodium naproxen) works really good.
1000 mg is the perscription strength (aka the max you should take if you buy OTC aleve).
Also, yoga, and heating pads on your tummy.
Drink a lot of water. Vitamins help general health too.

Heat pads, rest, fluids, vitamins all can help.
If you take ibuprofen/tylenol/whatever, please take it every 4-6hours or as directed. It will not help if you only take it once a day! You need to keep some of it in your system to control pain and reduce inflammation.
