Hi i have placed this question know on what basis the timings are fixed if they follow a standard out there....hope to get the right answer

Hi. Almost all time in science is UTC. I spoke with an astronaut aboard MIR years ago and I said "Good morning" (in French because the astronaut, not cosmonaut, was French) and he replied "Well, you know it is evening here aboard MIR..." They were using a Russian time.
