Against, and I'm Hispanic. Say you went to the dentist to have your wisdom tooth pulled. Would you let Jose anywhere near your tooth because he's the only Mexican dentist there or would you have a competent person do the job no matter where he/ she is from?
Jobs should go to the most qualified individuals no matter what the color of their skin is. Affirmative action promotes labeling of people and classification by race. That's where racism originates.

I'm against it. I'm Hispanic and I think that this gives me an advantage over my white counterparts which I think it's unfair. If we strive to true equality in our country then why are we making a preference for a race? Our skin color shouldn't matter when we apply to schools or jobs. Affirmative action had a purpose in the 1960s but today it is antiquated and divides people even more.

I believe people should be chosen by Universities for their outstanding performance and intelligence, not by affirmative action, that chooses a less qualified person because of race. It is an unfair system. I am against affirmative action.

I didn't necessarily like the idea at first. I really think it's a good idea now, because it is teaching us tolerance and that everyone is just like us.

It teaches us to be nicer to others who have unsimilar beliefs and backgrounds. I think it's been a positive thing to an extent.

To me, it does not make the most sense. Everyone wants to be created equal. An individuals admittance needs to be based on their qualifications. If we keep up policies like this, our country will always look at people based on their color, and not their character. And character is much more important.
