Internet explorer has an EXPORT feature: File/Import Export. At that point you can export them into a file (put on a thumb drive or CD) and then you can import them back in. Yahoo and IE will also import and export from each other.

I usually use the addresses and favories from Yahoo and you can Import and Export into Favorites also. Lots of options here... Just know it's not that hard - find import and export and save to file.

A quick way to save and backup your favourites is to go to start menu right click on favourites and sent to floppy drive A or a CD writer drive.

If you format your hard drive you lose everything on it as it makes it blank again. You would have re-install windows. Get a memory stick and save them on removable media.

Your browser favourites/bookmarks and e-mail address book should be files you regularly back up and also back up off the computer (to a CD-RW or pen drive). No-one ever does, and I can't remember when I did mine. I'll be back in a minute ...
