you can go to Start/Control Panel/Uninstall and uninstall word from there. Keep in mind that 'free' word won't work and someone else's copy won't work if it's on their computer. Office 2003 is very cheap right now - get it on e-bay or something.

If it is a trial version you can downloads to as many computers as you want, it does not matter.
