Hmm..that is a tough one..that really depends on what your needs are.

If you are into gaming PSP games then it is a no brainer, get the PSP but as far as any other day to day functions the PSP will fall far short of the capabilities of a PDA.

The PDA will handle things like contacts, schedules/calendar, most can sync automatically with the information on your computer making it an easy device to add to your day to day scheule/routine.

There is also another option called a PPC(Phone Edition) this is esentially a PDA that is also a phone. Some of the newer ones are basically a mini laptop/desktop. Via built in and/or third party software you can add memory up to 4GB via a memory card, add endless amounts of third party software, play games, surf the net via wifi or data connections, take pictures, short videos, text message, MMS messages (messages with video/audio and pics), watch TV, the possibilties are just about endless.

I'm not 100% of the capabilites of the PSP but I guarantee the PDA/PPC devices will carry more respect and show your maturatiy level to those around you.

If you are ummm...17 or below or heavy into PSP games the the PSP can be considered, over 18 look at the PDA/PPC you'll be glad you did

Its all a question of needs. You want to play games, get a psp. If all you want is core pda functions and connectivity, then a pda will be your best bet since with most mainstream pda like the palm and pocketpc you will be able to download and install 3rd party software to suit your day to day needs. A psp has a browser, maybe peer to peer networking. You will however need constantly available wireless network (wifi) available to make it a really mobile connectivity device. With a pda especially those that come as part of a phone, you can use the wireless network supplied with your phone provider to stay constantly connected if wifi is not available(assuming your pda has the function)

The bottom line is this, what's more important to you - the gaming or the information connectivity. You may also consider a more sublime angle: If you are in business, will you whip out a psp or a pda in front of your co professionals. :-), if you are a high school student, get the psp. For the college crowd, you are old enough to make the decision your self.

As everyone says, it is question of need: gaming in favour of a PSP and general/multimedia task for a PDA (Palm or Pocket PC).

If your requirement is not limited to gaming or it is not really defined at this time, go for a PDA, a good and pricy PDA in either Palm or PPC camp would supercede and include all functionalities of iPod, cellphone, mobile video player, databank, Nintendo DS. A budget priced PDA would cover 70% of the functionalities of those devices.

Well the DS. I love my PSP to loss of life however I extra most commonly uncover myself gambling it for hours on finish. That and can despite the fact that it has greater settings, a LCD monitor, and you'll be able to improve it as much as 12gb, the psp is cumbersome, effortless to damage, UMD discs are three instances the dimensions of the little DS chips and also you havr to always blank the monitor. The video games for the psp are extra tale headquartered. The ds video games are not. The psp browser suxs. I have not attempted the DS browser but however its most of the time the equal. As some distance as a 20min sport is going the psp can give up video games whilst you close it down. You flick the transfer and your proper again in which you left off. So with that stated PSP wins simply do not be difficult with it. Oh and the PSP has a USB port.
