I once bought a jacket that smelt like someone had died in it. Even after dry-cleaning, it still stank. I tried washing it and the smell ran onto my hands. Not nice. I don't buy things that smell from Charity Shops anymore. You never know...

I used to volunteer in a charity shop and we used to get all sorts of crazy things.
Like once we got a pheasant, not stuffed or anything, just a pheasant!!
Bearing in mind that a lot of our customers were elderly, we got a few "toys" that woudl have caused heartattacks if put on the shelf!
I stuck to just buying books though!!

I once worked on the small shop-floor at the 'British Heart Foundation'. I was nearly doing full-time hours for nothing! I couldn't find a decent job at the time so I wanted to spend time in there rather than be at home helping nobody.

Maybe I'm wrong - but always work for charity when you're in between jobs. You don't know what bargains you may find!!!
