We just moved into a place and the toilet has a bad ring in it. We have tried numerous cleaners and even bleach and scrubbed it, but it's still there. What are your tips?

Had same problem - always keep on hand a Pumice stick. The only place that sells them locally (NC)is ACE hardware. "Pumie - Pumice Scouring and Cleaning Stick
Pumice powers out lime, rust and stains in toilets and urinals without harm to porcelain finishes." This is what I got when I did a search so you can find a vendor online or store.

There is an inexpensive cleaner that you can get at Wal-Mart called "The Works". It costs less than $2 per bottle.

Just put a little in the bowl, clean with a brush like normal and then let it set for a little while.

We bought a building that used to be a Pizza Hut and it's public toilets were terrible but this stuff was recommended to me by a professional cleaning service in our town and it worked great.

Try pouring a can of coke on the ring and let it set before scrubbing it. If that does not work get lime away the gel kind and that should take the ring away. Good Luck to you!

I think you just flush it!
Sounds like it's there for good, you might have to get a whole new toilet I'd be too scared to sit on it!

Did you try to first bleach, and then scrub, then pour really hot boiling water.....! Boiling water might help.... but I doubt it sounds like it's there to stay....

Maybe you should try Borax. I had a stain on my counter and mixed it with vinegar and it took the stain off. Pour in vinegar and then Borax and let it sit for a while. Then, just scrub. Hope it works. This is a great non-chemical solution.

Try CLR (Calcium Lime and Rust). Most likely what you've got is a ring caused by minerals in hard water.

It could be rust or lime scale. Get some Lime-Away or CLR and try cleaning it off with those.
