It sounds to me like that's to be the new talking point. For a while now it's been gay marriage, and lo and behold it started popping up on ballots in swing states, just in time to get conservatives to the poll.
They're running out of swing states now, so they have to switch to another hot button issue to rally the base come election day. Mark my words: there will be an abortion item on more than one swing state ballot in 2008. Meanwhile, they have to get everyone talking about it.

I am a conservative, I bring up the Iraq issue when asked about the Iraq issue. However, you will find many liberals bring up civilians dying in Iraq when asked about abortion. Abortion is wrong, and so is killing innocent civilians, assuming you dont believe they are both the same thing. I do think the war has been mismanaged, I do not live under a rock. However, I am also smart enough to understand that we should have gone in there because Saddam did support Al-Qaeda, Hamas and other terrorist organizations. I think we should let the generals run the war, not the politicians. Many on both sides of the political spectrum feel they know the war inside out, when they dont. I have faith in our military. If they want more soldiers, give them more soldiers, if they want to gradually decrease troops and see what happens, I say we gradually decrease troops. I think it is stupid to make a not-so well thoughout stance on the war just to get votes. Most of the American public, including myself, do not know everything about the war, so who are we to take the place of the generals.

It's the only alternative to making a personal attack or an insult. If you don't have a reasonable answer, throw out a red herring. That's the neocon way.

Honestly, Republicans specifically tend to be moronic. It is like dumb Democrats who bring up all of the atrocities committed against womanhood when one voices disapproval of abortion.
It is a classic 4 year old response to knowing that they are wrong. The Iraq War was a mistake and the Republicans know that.

Because they don't like the question, so they bring up something else.
I guess that you - like many of your compatriots - equate Republicans with conservatives and Democrats with liberals.
I wonder about the generalization.

That's amazing. 160,000 abortions a day? Where did they pull that bogus stat from, Fox Notnews or Rush?
