Madurai is an important Hindu Pilgrimage Center in South India on the banks of river Vaigai.. It is also Cultural Center of Tamils. Most important place in Madurai is the big Sri Meenakshi Temple. Very beautiful Temple around which the city has been developed. Tirumalai Naicker Mahal, Alagar Koil, Vandiyur mariamman Tank and Tirupparamkundram are the other places of interest. It is basically a Pilgrim Town. If you are from out side India, better to take an official guide from Tourist Department. The weather in June will be very hot. June is a busy month in India I would advise you to book your Hotel Reservation in advance.
