Sadly, it is looking like a losing battle. Every creature was put here for a reason, and now we have property lawyers fighting to build (I am venting, my brother in law is a VP of the legal department for a land development firm) regardless of an endangered species (in this case, a rare fly). People are moving suburbia further out into the wild. I believe there should be a law in place that prevents people from building subdivisions and suburbia...each building should have a 7 acre minimum, or even 5, but preferrably 10 acres. This would at least allow small parcels to be saved. Check out defendersofwildlife.org...a great non profit!

Not much i belong to several groups and resigned from several others when they got militant
the reason why there is not much hope is simply man is so greedy i got told there was a wildlife corridor left in the latest subdivision ... yeah one tree the next is 1/4 mile away whats an animal to do? hope down dodge the cats dogs etc etc and then get up the next tree i wish there was more I could do ........ and then they say oh we need a gene pool in case the animals disappear so we can get them back why not keep them in the first place I feel powerless on global scale but here at home my yard is for the wild animals Ive planted native trees for the birds there is always fresh water and baths for them i have log piles for the lizards and large rocks for them to sun themselves on I put out supplement feed for the animals but never enough to make them full they gotta go and dig for their tucker etc. etc. if we all did this is may help out our wildlife in suburbia

If we only treated animals like the rock stars they are, there would be a balance between us and them. Think about how huge cooperations get to use animal images as mascots and in order to sell their products all free of charge! Imagine if they had to pay for the use of images of a Tiger (Exxon), a Cheetah (various car performance products), a Rhino (fire retardants), or some other animal. The funds raised would be fair enough to go a long way towards maintaining them in the wild.

People need to quit messing up their habitats...you know..like cutting down the trees, building oversized subdivisions, pouring crap into the waters all those and more!
