Yes, it's wrong. The concession stand represents the theater owner's entire profit margin.

When you buy a ticket, almost all of that goes to the studio and the distributor. The theater owner makes his money off of the concession stand.

If you want to eat your famous bowl, then wait 8 months, rent the DVD, and swing by the KFC drive-thru on your way home. That way, you aren't stealing from the pockets of the movie theaters and threatening the jobs of the people who work there.

how on earth did you sneak a KFC bowl into the theater? They should have given you free popcorn just for that :P

I always sneak food into the theaters - it probably isn't "right" but it's the only way we can all afford to go. *Shrugs* Lesser of two evils?

I actually can't wait till lunch so I can have one. Of course you were in the right for doing this. Popcorn pales in greatness to the awesomness of KFC bowl.

The same thing as bringing a drink into a restaurant to save on buying a drink. Solution if you don't like the cost don't go.
Rent a movie and stay home.

You were simply being frugal. Why waste $15 for popcorn you can pop yourself? Although the movie theater may not agree with what you did, but I do. And so does everyone else, probably.

Most theaters have signs posted telling you that you are not permitted to bring in outside food. So the question is really about your ethics. If saving that 15 dollars is so important, then why don't you decide to stay home rather than cheat the company out of their other source of revenue. My ethics tell me that going against the companies wishes is wrong!

I do not think that it is necessarily wrong but most places will make you throw it away when you bring outside food in. They see it as a way that you are taking business away from them. Instead of spending money there, you are buying something cheaper and eating it when you should be buying from them. Just try not to get caught because then that would be a waste of money.

for me, going to the movies with the wife is kind of a date for us (yeah we are lame) but with that comes the whole movie experiance, which is of course popcorn candy and soda. So for me yes, it would be wrong, but hey, you cant beat those tasty KFC bowls either

As long as the KFC bowl enjoys the movie.

I would. I hate paying the prices just for popcorn and drinks at the flippin' movie theater.
