so barrack obama is thinking about running in '08 and white people are going crazy with the sarcastic remarks on how he'll never win because he's so inexperienced(not that every white person is saying that). never mind that our present chief-of-state is a dim-wit, what would make Obama any worse. I've yet to witness him in a speech, but already I know that people don't think he'll win. Bush loves talking about how Reps welcome blacks, yet he's talking a bit too much about Obama, he's practically running a whole anti-Obama campaign, why is that? Hmmmmmmm!!!!!

Oh, My, God, I just realized I said Bush, I meant Rush, as in Rush Limbaugh, or whatever his VIagra-Taking self calls himself. I'm not venting

He is a Democrat who is a hell of alot more intelligent than Bush. It's true he does not have that much experience, but I think he has enough to do something excellent for this country. I would love to vote for him and see him win. It would be revolutionary for this country to have an African-American president.

Don't fall into the race trap on this one already. It's not just white people who are concerned that Obama has so little political experience. It's the Democratic Party in general. I watch a lot of politics every night and I've yet to see Bush make a comment about Obama. Do you have further info on this?
I think Obama is a jewel in the Democratic Party. He is articulate, informed and has a manner that draws many people to him. Don't be so sure white people are against this man. I'm not, and I know a lot of white folks who are falling under his charming spell. I watched some clips from his speech in NH and saw a good ethnic mixture cheering him, shaking his hand, and speaking with him. He's the first candidate that has made me waver in my support for Hillary Clinton. The thing is that I hate to see him run and be defeated simply because of the issue of his experience, and it could happen - it's wartime and people are looking for a candidate they feel confident has the know how to deal with this mess. I think he's too valuable to this country to mount a failed campaign. I'd like to see him wait 8 years, get that experience and then run for President. If he and his supporters were to take that angle and be willing to wait, he'd be unbeatable IMO. I wouldn't be averse to seeing a Clinton/Obama ticket though...

It's not a sarcastic or even racist remark to question the experience of someone who has only spent two years in the senate. We should always question the experience and credentials of anyone running for office.
People seem to forget that in the run up to the GOP convention in 2000 Dubya was the favorite, even before the primaries were over. He didn't win the nomination as much as he was anointed. If people had looked deeply at the candidate back then, he wouldn't have made it out of the primaries.

Bush is running an anti-Obama campaign?? Wha??? Obama's biggest flaw is that he quite honestly lacks experience. Take whatever position you will with our current president but the reality is that Bush was governor of Texas which if you didn't know, is the second largest state in the union. The role of governor (especially for the 2nd largest state) vs. that of a Senator (which is what Obama is) is more closely related to the responsibilities held by a president.

I'll ignore that your remarks are racist and misleading.
Just out of interest, did anyone know that Obama's wife is on the board at Wal-Mart? She makes about $350,000 a year, which is more than Barack, if you don't count the book deal.
You know, I was under the impression that the Democrats hated Wal-Mart because they are not beholding to the unions. Of course, Pelosi won't hire union workers, but that's another story.
Interestingly, Hillary Rodham used to be on the board of Wal-Mart too. What's the deal there?

Funny, I haven't noticed any commentary from the President about Barack Hussein Obama. In fact, googling this yields 0 results.
You do know that Bush isn't running again? His opinions and commentary one way or the other would not be beneficial.
Do you have a quote or reference? Or was this just a way to vent your personal feelings?
Obama does only have 2 years in Congress, votes a very liberal line, is virtually unknown, and is highly sensitive about his ears. His main appeal seems to be that he is "not Hillary", and the media is quick to latch on to something new.
It's a long way to Nov. '08. Patience.

I am so white i am nearly transparent. But I think Barrack Obama would make an awesome president I've heard him speak and i get a very relaxed feeling about him. He has a very calm, level headed, common sense demeanor about him. Trouble is the American people would never elect him because of racism. That is unfortunate, because that is exactly what this country needs. But historically we go for glitzy, glamorous loud mouth.

The only reason Obama is in the public eye is because of Oprah's endorsement. The ONLY reason.
And if Hillary or Obama get the dem nomination in 08, the dems will have no chance at winning the presidency. We're not there yet.

Barack Obama is bi-racial...he is actually half black, half white. Nonetheless, it was his speech at the democratic primaries in the last election that put his name on the map. I believe that Bush's presidency has opened peoples' eyes to accept a wider range of potential candidates because people have been disappointed by his performance. Barack Obama has a good chance and he has my vote if he decides to run.
Also, to the person who responded above me. True, Bush was the governor of Texas. However he didn't do a damn thing while he was in office. I lived in Texas while he was governor. The ONLY good thing about him getting into the white house, was getting him OUT of Texas!

I think Obama has been rushed a bit - he is a very bright man with a tremendous future, though. Perhaps he should sit on the ticket as VP to gain more experience.
