My workplace is selling tickets for the Bulls vs. the Suns. Prices as follows:
Nosebleed seats: $25
300-level seats: $40
I don't really watch sports, but I was going to get tickets for my family, bc they love to watch basketball.
I thought "nosebleed seats" were the best seats in the house, closest to the court! If yes, how could they be so cheap?
Can you clarify what nosebleed seats are? The person in charge of this event isn't here today, so I can't ask him.

aw thanks! i'm disappointed. i thought nosebleed seats were close, because you're so close to the court that you could get hit by the ball or by the players, and thus get a nosebleed. <:)

Ha ha- nosebleed seats are called that because they are so high up in altitude in the arena, that people might get a nosebleed. They are even above the rafters. There might be a couple of clouds and pigeons up there.
Why did you think they were the best? Ha ha.

Yes it is obvious that you don't go to many games. Go to Chicagobulls.com and they will have a seating chart there for you. The United Center has many levels in the arena. The 300 level for $25 might not be a bad price. As the previous post said the higher you are you could get a nosebleed from the air being so thin. It is a very old expression.

Nosebleed seats are the ones in the highest section of the stadium. They are the worst seats in the house because all the players look like little ants and it is almost impossible to see what is going on. Courtside seats are the best.

So high up in the stands you get a nosebleed, i.e., the farthest away from the court.

at the 300 level...you might want binoculars....
the nosebleedseats are so high up that the game looks like a flea circus....but you still get popcorn and beer!

NOSE BLEED SEATS MEAN THAT THEY ARE SO HIGH UP THAT IT COULD CAUSE YOUR NOSE TO BLEED.
