with the experience of my 2 daughters, they were able to see me after about 6-7 weeks from across the room. from birth, they can only see about 2-3 inches in front of them and distinct patterns like checkerboards.

They cannot really tell you that! But I can tell you they see almost immediately. Didn't you notice how the little eyes squint at you .. its because they are not used to seeing images, and its just a matter of focusing. Remember everything looks enormous to the little soul ... !!

By about 8 months their vision is equal to ours. This develops from birth when they can see approx 12" from your arms to your face and only bold colours, slowly including better colour distinction, clearer shapes, pastels, smaller objects.

guess it varies! every baby is different but estimated 5 to 6 month! at young ages they only see shadows Intel the skin comes off there outer eyes i think!
