Ok, I am not saying what you said is right or ethical or anything, but there haven't been many long term studies on the children of gay couples. At on etime or another we were all kids and we all know what goes on in schools. There will always be bullys, rich snobs, tough kids, jocks, nerds, etc etc etc but what truely is not know is how kids will accept and treat other kids who know that an individual has gay parents. Will that child be bullied, will that child automatically be thought of as a homosexual because they are being brougth up by homosexual parents? I know of two cases where kids were tormented so badly that the gay parents home schooled the children and nothing could happen in the school systems because the kids who were being the bullies were popular, athletic, and gave back to the school.
Additionally, no matter how many marches are held, how many irate lesbians go to town and PTO meetings, how many laws get passed, even if they have group hugs. Human beings are part of the animal kingdom, we are animals, and animals tend to treat things they do not trust or understand with disdain. SO do we have a huge group hug education, or do we let nature handle life the way it has been for the past few eons? Personally I think if they want to get pregnant and have kids, fine let them, but they also have to deal with all of the psychological issues that WILL arise. What if they have a boy and the boy wants to be a boy scout, who will go on the father son picnic, the lesbian with more hair on her chin?

Why is it that there are always some people that jump in trying to play god with their opinions. In todays society we live with all minorities and we should remember that although these people are classed as lesbians they are women with real feelings and urges. Being gay is not about life choices it's about dealing with real feelings and attractions to another member of the same sex.
I am a hetrosexual female, married with one child but I have two female friends who are in a relationship together and both have a child of their own concieved prior to their relatioship. I also have two male friends in a relationship together, one of which has a child which lives with them, also from a previous relationship. Both sets of friends are in loving relationships which in turn shows in the way that the children are being raised and are secure in their home environment. My female friends children do not see their fathers through no chioce of theirs, but of the fathers.
I think that if two people are in a loving relationship, no matter what the sex, and plan on spending their lives together then they should be able to have children. It's better than women being in a relationship, having a child, the relationship disolving and the child being caught in the crossfire. It's also better than as stated before living with crackhead parents, abusive parents or even still living in care.
It is bigots like you that keep the homosexual community afraid to reveal their true sexual identity. To conclude why should people be judged on their actions solely by their sexual preferences? You wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops if it was all over the news that two druggie parents had won the right to IVF on the NHS.

I'm straight as a die and have every intention of giving any child I have a loving, stable childhood with myself and the father.
I agree that I don't think it's necessarily 'right' for a child to have two parents of the same sex, but then again is it 'right' to bring a child into an abusive relationship between two druggie parents who are incapable of loving it and it'll end up in care for it's entire unhappy childhood...
Better a well-loved child, with two happy parents, than a depressed, ASBO brat who'll be burden to themselves and society.
Anyway, why shouldn't lesbians and gays have babies too?
Who are you to define 'normal' and 'natural'? Do you eat your meat raw, sleep in a tree, and walk barefoot everywhere? Thought not...
(I have to say, from a straight but open-minded point of view, I find this post quite rude)

what makes you the supreme master to decide whats morraly right for others?
And I'm posotive that those orphins out there, that DREAM about having a family and a home and a room all to themselves, and Most importantly, parents, like every normal child has, they don't care if it's two mommies or two daddies, or a mom and a dad. All they want is a change at a family, and your views is what keeps those children from being adopted.
Good one.

this is a really sensitive and controversial subject. my view is if 1 or 2 people are able to bring a child up in a loving and protected way, surely this must be better than being dragged up not wanted. some people have issues with single parent families with no father present. i think gay or straight, provided the child is loved, this surely must be most important factor when having children.

Well, you see, not all people think of lesbians as "dykes" because not all people are "assholes" like you. This was quite a rude question, and while I see that you are completely closed minded and ignorant, I also think you should try to accept others. Any person in his or her right mind would realize that lesbians are people, just like you, but more accepting.

and who made you governor!!? and you know all about their lives, circumstances and needs do you. I'm guessing you have problems understanding women!! They're people you know...or did you lose sight of that when your head was up your own ar**?
If nature intended anything I'm sure it wouldn't have been to let people discriminate against each other..regardless of race, creed or gender. Get of the sofa and launch yourself into this century and you'll have taken a big step forward!

i personally don't think it should be allowed,
if you look at it from a child's point of view they won't have a true father but then from a lesbians point of view why shouldn't they be allowed. HEY THINK ABOUT THE CHILD , if women of 50 + are allowed why not,
