There could be many reasons why you won't understand a subject,
1. It could be very abstract
2. It might not interest you
3. The method of study or the teacher is not right.
I would avoid the first because if you don't fit into it, you might as well get out of it and be comfortable.
If something does not interest you, it might be because you are not familiar with the background and the larger picture, something like watching the 100th episode of a sop opera, you might need to understand where the subject is coming from and understand what the applications are and what is the trait which defines successful people in the subject. This will help you in finding a compass and then you can navigate yourself from there on.
If it is the method of study or teacher which is a problem, I would suggest getting a tutor or teaming up with somebody who understands the subject better than you and find out how to think about the subject.
Hope this helps

Find out first why you do not understand it. Do you lack prior background information that will link basic knowledge to the new knowledge in the subject you do not understand?(This is the primary reason why people do not understand a subject) If so, ask for help and your problem will no longer be that of concentrating.
If your only problem is however how to read ever line in a subject that you may not find interesting, try reading out the words instead of reading silently and consider chunking your reading ( 15 mins, play, another 15 mins)

the best thng is to getextra help in those subjects--i kno what ur saying from experience....like may not like the subject u may not understand it and often the reason may be that its bc the teachers attention is divided while teaching a whole class and therefore may be unable to attend to ur personal needs...when u go for extra help ur teacher can focus on u alone....its a good idea and just keep asking questions till u get it..nobody was born knowing everything and some ppl have more truoble with some things than others

research information online yourself on your own time and see if it helps. sometimes supplementing the text book will make it all easier to comprehend. just make sure you're checking reliable sources. usually if it ends in .edu, it's a good site.
in the subjects that are really hard for you, you'll have to bury yourself in them daily until you understand the concepts. get a study buddy from class or find a tutor through the teacher.
make sure you are focused when you attend class. if you listen to everything the teacher says, you're more likely to get it. take notes on what you think is important so you have something to reference later. if you have questions while the teacher is lecturing, speak up and ask it then. you may not be the only one in the class who is confused, and that way the teacher can address is right away.
