Yes I do. Especially remembering what Christmas is all about! We have a family tradition of drawing names and a set maximum dollar amount you can spend on a gift. Usually 25 to 50 dollars. Everyone goes crazy trying to find out from the others what everyone wants for Christmas! That is fun to us!! Then if you want to give someone else a gift (which is usually everyone) then a low maximum is set. Usually $5-10 dollars. If a child or unemployed member can't handle it, then those that can pitch in. As an idea, I carve wood, or make something from wood for each family member. This year I gave all the big boys a chess set, the little boys and girls got a toy they wanted that I made from wood. The Mom's each got 3 pieces to add to their Nativity set. This year it was a wise man, The manger, and a cow. It takes me all year to do that! Plus I always make a music box for my wife.
On our first Christmas nearly 40 years ago. Mom fixed a fabulous dinner. No one ate it cause they were full of fruit, nuts, and candy. So, next and all preceding years we order pizza the day before, bag it, put it in the fridge till the next day. We have a variety of snacks, drinks, desserts, and when you get ready you can heat up a slice or two (or more) of pizza in the microwave.
Before opening gifts, we have a small devotional and prayer thanking Heavenly Father for the birth of Jesus and the many wonderful blessings He has given us.
Then "we give out the presents one by one, and watch each others expressions."
Then we sit around messing with our new toy and everyone shares a little time with others and their new toy. Take a nap, watch TV, play outside as a family. Talk our heads off. Play games.
In other words we put Christ back into Christmas and renew our love for each other. So let your imagination run wild.
We would really like to see the US American businesses take the commercialism out of this special holiday. Forget about buying gifts for EVERYONE! And stick to our family and very close friends, plus if you can and have the resources (money) pick a needy person or family and secretly make a good Christmas for them too! Then continue to help them throughout the year or till they get their feet back on the ground.

I have a difficult time at Christmas since my ex husband killed himself on that date. But even before that i find that people get to materialistic and are ruder around Christmas than any other holiday. I give things throughout the year when i find something that a friend or a family member would like, and then when it comes to Christmas my gifts are always homemade gifts. I make a new Christmas decoration every year and then this year i made everyone blankets.

Sounds good to me. Now in my adulthood and previously my marriage ruin up, i could rejoice on the twenty 5th it relatively is customary in England. even nonetheless, my grandmother became Austrian and it particularly is/became Austrian custom to furnish Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. If memory serves that became the day "Kristkindle" could come and that became the special occasion whilst i became starting to be up. In a small yet accidental revert to previous kinfolk custom, transportation themes will preclude me from seeing my daughter on Christmas Day, even nonetheless, she is coming over on the twenty third and could be recieving her supplies from my fringe of the kinfolk on Christmas Eve.

I choose not to celebrate Christmas. The Bible does not give the date of Jesus birth nor does it tell us to celebrate his birth date.
Many Christmas traditions and celebrations have pagan roots. for example: December 25th coincides with pagan festivals held around the winter solstice.
The bible shows that we offend God when we worship him in ways he does not approve Exodus 32: 5-7.
