Really kind. They'll go out of their way to help, especially if you've established some sort of relationship with them, even in passing. If I asked someone for advice -- which line at the poste -- that person would then double check that I had the right ticket and was sorted. Little things like that are common.
Certain politenesses matter a lot. Like greeting a shop owner with a "Bonjour Monsieur/Madame" on entering. Trying to do things their way, even if I messed it up a bit, went a long long way and the response was terrific.
Great conversations too, and a lot of fun.

I love french people J'adore France...i feel that if u r nice 2 dem dey will b nice 2 u...but dey need 2 slow down on d roads i nearly got ran over 4 times wen i was in france

At the end of the day, every body is the same, yes they may be a diffrent culture or a terrorist, but french people are no diffrent to us english. j'adore le francais

I go to beautiful Paris at least once a year i always find them friendly and helpful , of course that doesn't mean all of them but in every race there are nasties , but they are par for the course

They are ok but facts show that France is the most hated country in the world for some reason.

They're not bad people, on the whole. They're a little snobbish when it comes to their wine and have a very relaxed relationship with time, but what society doesn't have it's hang-ups?
