I know what you mean. It's unfair It's how most company's work I guess. But dont think it's because your hubby doesn't want you there. He has no choice. I'm pretty sure hed' love to have you there.

A lot of companies now only have parties for their staff. Where I work the Board of Directors throws a party for all the staff only. Then one of us, there is only six people so it's pretty easy to do, have the rest of the staff and their partners over to one of our homes and have a Christmas celebration together. We all bring something and exchange gifts, for both staff and their mates. Expenses I suppose are the culprits of this tradition going the way of the dinosaurs, as well as people getting too much to drink and then driving.

Loads of companies don't invite spouses anymore - it costs too much money!! I wouldn't worry about it - I think it's got something to do with being politically correct too. Perhaps it was being prejudice to single people to invite partners... You never know what rubbish the HR people come up with!

I wouldn't worry. My work do this year invited partners, but my partners one was for staff only - and last year it was the opposite way round!

Company saving a few pounds is the most likely explanation! x

I can tell you that I work for a company that does the same thing. They actually have the Christmas gathering on Christmas eve day, because the shop closes at noon. I think it is wrong as well. Therefore, I don't stick around. I would love for my husband to be able to go.

Oftern the company or boss will pay for a proprtion of the event such as the drinks and they want to keep the bill down. Also it s oftern about team building and if partners are there they will be a distraction.

I suppose with everything times have just changed. Most Christmas parties are like this now. People are becoming more individual in the outside world. Try not yo worry too much and just trust him.

Very fair question.
If I cannot take my wife I will not go.
#If it is something that she could have gone to but chooses not to that is a different matter. I may go then. But I would always be glad to be back.
Works parties should not be so exclusive.
Tell him to have a word with organiser for future occasions

Not many companies do that these days! He will have a better time without you there anyway, he will be able to relax and enjoy himself more!

Not that I am being negative about you, but it's always better when you go out on your own, you don't have to worry about what the other half thinks!

I just went to my company party last night and it was work staff only. Companies are too cheap these days to invite the spouses.

Some companis do that because they feel the employees need to build better working relationships. Families may distract from that goal.
