Do you think Florida is really one of the top two college football teams this year?

Should the championship game be about having the two best teams play, or should it be about making sure "everybody has a shot at beating Ohio State?"

Yes, I think Michigan would be a better challenge for Ohio State.

No I don't think that Florida is one of the two best teams in college football this, or any, year.

Simply put...the ONLY reason that Michigan is not the Big Ten champion is that they lost to the Big Ten champions, # 1 OSU.
If the Big Ten is so weak, how come it has three teams with 11 wins (Ohio State, Michigan, and a VERY underrated Wisconsin, whose only loss was to Michigan)

Put Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia or Auburn into the Big Ten and they would be in the same boat that Penn State has been in since 1993.....2 Big Ten titles (1994, 2005) in a conference that they were supposed to come into and totally dominate year in, year out.

In my totally biased opinion, I think that Ohio State and Michigan should be playing for the national title.
You may say, 'Michigan had thier shot and lost, why should they play again, they already played?......' I say that the two best teams in the country should play for the national title every year, and Ohio State and Michigan are CLEARLY the two best teams in the country this year, regardless of their BCS rankings.
There are no rules, provisions or guidelines that state that two teams that played in the regular season cannot play again for the national title (remember 1996 Florida?).

Auburn has lost, twice...at home......Florida lost to Auburn and had more than a few unimpressive wins against MUCH lesser competition...( Geogia, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida State.)

Michigan lost to Ohio State, who has been # 1 all year (including the preseason)........AT OSU, by 3 points.......if that doesn't merit a OSU - UM rematch ( on a neutral field ), then you are a Florida fan whose team is in the national title game, or, you just don't want to see the best two teams play for the national title.

I won't fault anyone, ever, for being a fan of their team, I never have. If you have a favorite team you should defend them, always, but, if your team isn't one of the two best teams in the country, then you should be happy that the two best teams in the country are playing for the national title.....

PLEASE, don't root (or RANK) against a team just because you don't like them or just don't want to have a rematch ( LOUSY EXCUSE ). As fan of college football you should always want to see the two best teams in the country play for the national title, each, and every year. That is what the BCS was created for, to end the arguing amongst all fans throughout the country, and crown a true national champion.

At the end of it all, Michigan is playing in the Rose Bowl, which, in my opinion the greatest of all bowls (also it was the first ever bowl game....Jan. 1,1902 Michigan 49 - Stanford 0).

So I'm not complaining that Michigan did not make the BCS NC game, I'm saying, simply, that the two best teams in the country should play for the national title........every year.

Interesting, read this.....

" David Glazier, Detroit Lions senior vice president who votes in the Harris poll, said he had problems with the "politicking that people in the media did, trying to steer people away from a rematch.

He also had the novel idea of voting for the better team.

"Did I want to see a rematch? No," he said. "But my job was to vote for the top 25 teams, not who should play who, and after watching as much college football as anybody, I believed Michigan was the second-best team."

The last rematch in the national title games was in 1996, when Florida beat Florida State for the national title after losing to the Seminoles in the final game of the regular season.

South Carolina's Steve Spurrier, who coached the Gators to the '96 national championship, moved Florida past Michigan in the coaches' poll.

His reasoning?

"Heck, I'm a Gator," he said. "I went there. So I had a lot of reason to vote. "

That says it all.................SCREWED WITH THEIR PANTS ON ! ! ! !

If Ohio State underestimates Florida, the Gators will win the national championship. Ohio State was finished when Florida had 3 more games to play. The layoff may hurt them. Michigan lost to Ohio State in the regular season, and Florida is 12-1 and a conference champion. Michigan is not even a conference champion at 11-1. I think that Florida is the second best team in the country. They went 12-1 with one of the toughest schedules (played Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, and Florida State) in the nation. So my answer to your first question is no and the answer to your second question is yes.

OMG Michigan only lost by three points! 3 fricken points! People keep making that game out to be a huge blowout. Do you guys really think that in week six if the second place team lost to the first place team, the fourth place team would leap frog them? I think that a playoff is the only solution to this. That was the only thing that came out of meyers mouth that wasnt total bull crap! The only reason that Florida is in it is because Meyer was yelling and whining. If they did use a playoff Michigan and Florida would play each other and this would be settled.

I am a huge florida fan. And I think the answer is yes. Home field advantage is supposed to be like adding 3 points to your score. Ohio State won by three, so that would have been like a tie.

Michigan would have the edge but I would still prefer to see a Florida-Ohio State matchup

Why is everyone praising Michigan's defence?
They gave up 42 points against Ohio State.

If Florida loses then all the polls will put them at third in the nation

NO -- despite all the hype, no one knows whether Ohio State is even as good as the top SEC teams, much less whether Michigan is. The Big-10 is not a real man's conference with a conference title game, but the Ohio St.- Michigan game was a de facto playoff game. Michigan had their chance to advance and came up short. It would be absurd to have them advance anyway.

I believe Mich. is the only team in the country that would have a chance to beat OSU, but they blew it. So I guess it's only fair to give fla a chance.
