America has several you just dont acknowledge them as that. I could state the obvious-Bush-or even Clinton...
But what about the not so obvious that Americans "worship" and they get royalty treatment---the good and the bad
Tom/Katie, Brad/Angelina, Brittney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Donald Trump the list goes on and on

I'm against America becoming a monarchy at this time in their life. I mean we had come over here to escape the King's religious persecution and lots of settlers before the Mayflower came over from other European countries to destroy the civilized natives who had monarchies, so it would be hypocritical of us to do it now as a country that's only 200 something years old. Plus with our current political and media climate we couldn't handle it properly. I mean look at the celebs we consider royalty.
Maybe in another 400 or 500 years if America is still alive we can handle it, you never know how we might turn out.

Yes, the Kennedies were the closest. It would be fun to have a royal family. The US could have had one because after the war with England in the 1780s, George Washington was asked to be the king.

Why would be want one? For example, historically the English royal families have been full of lunatics, drunkards and adulteresses. Come to think of it, the Kennedys fit this category and people do talk of them as royalty.

No I think it would be far from fun. Had George Washington been made king of America instead of President, slavery would most likely still exist and we would be serving under a monarchy.

We're rebels, through and through. If Americans had a royal family, we would have overthrown and beheaded them all by now.
Which, come to think of it, is not unlike what happened to the Kennedys...

It'd be interesting. The Kennedy family pretty much is our royal family though, even if they're almost all dead and don't get much attention anymore.

No, it would be disgusting. It's a little bit like playing with dress up dolls, except that Barbie and Ken would cost millions of dollars of upkeep every year, and would act like they actually deserved every penny of it.

No I don’t think so one reason people came to America was to escape the Monarchy.
