The brand of detector you have is probably too sensitive for a kitchen. A detector shouldn't be installed there anyway. Almost all manufacturers of residential detectors tell you to install them away from a kitchen or any other heat source. Most residential detectors are ionization types ... they sense heat and changes in the particles of things circulating in the air. When you cook anything, you fill the kitchen with microscopic particles of whatever you're cooking, as well as the heat from the stove or oven. Try moving the detector into an adjacent room and see what happens.
P.S.: Tyler Durden answered that where there's no fire there's no smoke. Not true. A smoldering fire produces only smoke until it gets hot enough or gets enough oxygen to go to open flames!

Because it is picking up the heat and smoke from your oven. Is your oven clean on the bottom? It could cause the smoke that is setting off your detector. If not move the detector to your living room. I had an apartment that I had to do this.

Smoke detector senses optically. If the detector is over the oven, heat waves can set it off. If it is away from the oven, you may have some burned on food or grease that produces enough smoke to trigger it. In that case, clean the oven well.

A smoke detector will go off, not just when there is smoke, but when the batteries in it are starting to wear out.

Move the detector to a location farther from your oven. Also, check the batteries and change them frequently. If that doesn't fix your problem, I'd go ahead and purchase some new detectors.

at the same time as broiling, position a shallow pan of water lower than the steaks so the drippings do not smoke. you need to apply a cookie sheet and a a touch water to the bottom. This also keeps the steaks moist. i believe you're meant to leave the oven door ajar at the same time as broiling ,or it may cutting-edge a hearth risk. till i began doing this, the smoke alarm served as a dinner bell!

Well the heat from the stove will rise and that can do it and you might have bad batteries , if they are bad they will go off for no reason .

Steam also sets off smoke detectors so it could be that.

my smoke alarm use to go off at the earliest hour in the morning due to low batteries. One morning it woke me and I killed it with a broom stick.
