You are not the parent of a child to your father. He has a right to enjoy life even at 68. He has a right to love and fun and companionship. Be happy for him just as he's been for you and let him live his life. Be a part of making this experience wonderful for him and be happy that you could be there.

WHAT DO YOU SEE AS A PROBLEM HERE? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM IF HE IS 68? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IF HE'S 38 OR 68? EVERYBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO BE HAPPY AND TO SEEK HAPPINESS! YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND YOUR FATHER. DON'T YOU WANT HIM TO BE HAPPY?! DON'T YOU THINK HE DESERVES TO BE HAPPY IN THE AUTUMN OF HIS LIFE? ESPECIALLY IF HE HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP! WOULD YOU LIKE HIM TO STAY ALL ALONE? THE KIDS GET MARRIED AND LEAVE HIM. HIS PARENTS ARE PROBABLY DEAD. WHY SHOULD HE STAY ALL BY HIMSELF IF HE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE HIS LAST YEARS WITH SOMEONE HE CARES ENOUGH TO MARRY? YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY FOR HIM, NOT TO WORRY WHAT TO DO.

I think you should kiss your inheritance good bye - or talk to him and make sure his finances are in order and that this new gal isn't a gold digger.
But... life to too short not to live life with whom you want, so what if he's 68 so long as he wont be lonely. Be happy for him, but open your communication lines with him to make sure he's thinking about the future too.

Give him a break! Let him enjoy his years with whomever he chooses. BUT.... also make sure that he sets out a will. If he does have anything to take and you feel this woman is a gold digger then maybe you should suggest it in a very kind and gentle way. But I'm sure that your father is wise in his many years of life. I'm sure he's aware of the evil ways of women when they want to have something. Be happy for him.

May I ask, what is wrong with that? Your dad has a right to be happy & live his life just like you. Is there a problem with her?? It really is not much fun to be alone in your older years. I wish I knew more about the whole story & why you are so upset. Good luck honey.

Whats wrong with that? Be happy he found some one. It may take some time to get used to it, but be greatful you have some time to adjust. My friend's father went on vacation for a week and came back engaged to a woman he met and a week later they were married. Now thats a shocker!!

I know losing your dad and handing him 2 another women is difficult ut if u love him let him be happy.
Smile 4 him and show him u care and always there 4 him.
The worst thing is when a father knows that his child is not happy with him ex-specially when he is in love and getting married.

Older people need companionshiop too. Without you giving many details, I'd say be content that his is happy and not alone anymore. Be polite and gracious to his 'bride'.
