I really love a lot of the songs on the soundtrack to the musical "The Sissy Show". I know that they aren't talking about homosexuality, primarily, but rather transgenderism, but some of the songs really hit home, as they deal with disclosure, lies, and so on. Plus they're just really pretty. Some favorites are "The Lie" and "The Fear"- both make me realize the importance of coming, and staying, out.
The Lie
When you got an evil secret
That you carry in your head
From the time that you wake up
Until you go to bed
You look over your shoulder
You live with the dread
Some days you wish you were dead
When you live with a lie
No matter what you say
And no matter what you do
There's always somebody out there
With the power to tear you in two
You pray for the day
When you can tell the truth
But until that day
You live with a lie
You know you'll never be
The person that you seem
One way or the other
You're stuck here in between
You can try to explain
But nobody knows what you mean
It can make you, make you crazy
Or let in a dream
What you see is not what you get
So you're always on your toes
You must never forget
All those stories that you've told
It's always on your mind
And it dwells within your soul
When the truth can never be told
You live with a lie
It chokes you with its hold
When you live with a lie
It will make your blood run cold
When you live with a lie
"The Fear"
I keep them behind closed windows
Staring out in their pretty clothes
I make sure they count all the days
And the long, lonely nights they've wasted away
Thinking about what might have been
Now it's over, it's all at an end
Come to me, come to me now
I am here to make you cower
Nuzzle close, warm as new tears
Hold me now, hold on to your fears
I'll teach you to fear the turn of a head
The half-lidded stare that's cold and dead
That's how they look before they attack
So quick, duck and run, and don't look back!
Chorus
My serum hooks you like cocaine
When I inject into your brain
It lives within as hot allum
Pulsing in perfect unison
Chorus
I sink my fangs and hear you moan
I feed on blood and marrow bone
Once I take your pain away
I'll take your life in even trade
Chorus
With me around you'll never make
One false move or a little mistake
I'll keep your secret; here's the deal
You'll never be free, never be real
Chorus
They're just really good songs.

4 Non Blondes - What's Up
Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do
There's no special meaning for me. They were simply very popular when I came out, and I made the association.

"Mad World" by Gary Jules (previously by Tears for Fears)
I heard it in the movie Donnie Darko and for some mysterious reason it as stuck as my "coming out" song. Happily I am not such a dark person as song might suggest.
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me , no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
