Male genital mutilation, once thought to "cure" masturbation. Whoops, that didn't work, so the next excuse was that it was necessary for hygiene. Wrong; it's not cleaner at all except in some people's dirty minds. Now some studies show that in very limited circumstances where AIDS is epidemic and condoms unavailable, it can cut down on HIV infection. Itstill makes no sense to recommend it in countries where heterosexual transmission of AIDS is low and condoms readily available. It lessens sexual satisfaction for both male and female partners.

As everyone has said above - removal of the foreskin on a males penis
Maple - Get a LIFE!!!!!!! - Now I can speak from experience as I too once happily had a foreskin for 28 years of my life. I can tell you I was VERY reluctant as was my Ex Girlfriend for me to be circumcized as an adult which happened due to medical reasons.
Well guess what Maple? I am now happily circumcized. I have less sensitivty but more. Less in that there is no moisture from my foreskin over the head but more sensation as I have more intense orgasms.
Here are reasons to get circumcized if you want:
No smegma {white cheesy stuff under the foreskin}
No smell {I used to smell only 1/2 an hour later after washing & scrubbing with soaps, shampoos etc}
No foreskin between pubes
I can pee straighter {No foreskin in the way}
More intense orgasm
My Ex girlfriend thought my penis felt bigger {We came to the conclusion because there was less skin it was tighter thus felt bigger}
I now enjoy hand jobs and head jobs where as when I had a foreskin I was VERY sensitive on the head coz it was always moist.
As I said earlier the best thing is I have more intense orgasms.
So Maple there are lots of benefits of being circumcized.
Look I THOUGHT I enjoyed having a foreskin and now i enjoy the benefits of being circumcized so my advice to EVERYONE out there ENJOY what you have. If you ain't circed & you want to be for cosmetic, medical or personal reasons then just do it - it's a great experience. If you are circumcized & feel mutilated or whatever GET A LIFE try & enjoy your circumcized dick. There are sites on foreskin restoration which I am sure you'll find if you do a search on it. Life is too short.
By the way I forgot to say the pain aint THAT BAD after the operation.
My only regret is not being circed tighter & maybe ealrier in life.

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin (the skin covering the tip of the penis).
Now some information about circumcision. Keep reading....
CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner and several research bodies have concluded that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infection. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
Is it NOT true that the AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) does not recommend circumcision. They simply say they leave the decision to parents. But recently, and specially after the New Zealand study, the AAP has been discussing if it may be necessary to change their policy and recommend circumcision to all newborns as they used to do, so in the future we may see that the AAP advocates again circumcision.
Have a look at: http://www.baby-health.net/articles/381.html
About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have concluded that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. Circumcised men have been proved to be up to seven times less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://icuxbridge.icnetwork.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=14095142&method=full&siteid=53340&headline=-circumcision-protects-against-aids--name_page.html
As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html
About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:
No medical or physiological study has proved that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Circumcision is an easy and nowadays *painless* procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African and South American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
Finally, this site has a lot of useful and *unbiased* information. Make sure you have a good look: http://www.circinfo.net

It is having "a doctor" remove through a simple surgical process the foreskin of the male penis. It is best to have this done when one is a baby, shortly after birth. The older the person is, the more painful it is.
Circumcision is somethiong a jewish baby, boy or man Must have done within Judaism.
Many parents prefer to have this done for their male child, but it is best to have this done shortly after the birth of the child.
Hope this info. helps a little.
