A dictatorship!
With the voting systems corrupt in every democracy in the world.
And the western world especially believing the cr@p they see on TV or read in the newspapers the people that get in are the people that have had the right hair-do and manicure, not those that want to actually do something for society.
in other words, when it comes to elections, whilst the media is allowed to run the elections were screwed.

Don't even bother to campaign in the right wing Christian fundamentalist states as they will never consider voting Democrat regardless what kind of war mongering lunatic Republican is out there.
Vote for a Democrat who is willing to go out on a limb and speak his mind on what really matters ie social justice, environment. Maybe that will get all those apathetic non-voters to sit up, listen and finally vote for a change (believe me, that group represents a lot of people. A candidate that is not much different than his Republican opponent will keep this group staying the course of apathy.
