ugg boots sizes?

I'm confused by the US shoesizes and how they're conferted to EU sizes. Every website says something different. I want to buy the UGG Brooks and I'm a 39.5 EU size. Do I need a 8 or 9 US size?

a 39.5 would usually be converted into a 8.5, but if they don't have that, you would probably want to try a size 9

uggs stretch a lot after a few months and the lining becomes less fluffy and substantial so it's probably better to get the 8 so they aren't too big as they stretch out, that way you can wear them longer.
