There is none although they promise it will be less prone to viruses and hackers. They also promise it will be more stable than previous Windows. Supposably it will also handle light shading better (to make life like graphics more life like).

Your best bet is to get Vista when a person gets a new computer though somebody like Emachines or Dell or if you are a hard core gamer.

From what i have heard Windows Vista is 10x more stable than Windows XP (not heard from Microsoft)

Windows Vista can handles IPv4 and IPv6 Simultaneously

Windows Vista is said to be the best thing to happen to Windows Since Windows 95.

Windows Vista will more than likely be able to participate with Windows 2000 networks seeing as to how Microsoft still supports windows 2000.

If it were me, I'd hold off getting Vista at this point. Already there are plenty of problems with it as written about by tech writers in magazines, particularly with driver incompatibility with programs, etc. As another answerer has said here, despite the claims from Microsoft, there's BOUND to be glitches that will have to be fixed with Service Packs, and no sense getting an operating system that's flawed to begin with. Wait a year or so, before going to Vista.

Check with Microsoft's site about the system requirements and check with your wallet.

Vista, to use the new Aero interface, requires hefty system specs - you'll need 512 ram just to run Vista, and since Vista requires the video card to handle ALL graphics, not just movies and games but the Vista GUI as well, you'll need a fairly decent card there.

If the system cannot handle the graphics, Vista defaults to XP.

Vista has better security, it has updated features like DirectX 10, and so on, but XP will do DirectX 10 and the new browser and Media Player as well.

So you are left with getting 1. extra security and 2. eye candy, assuming you have the system specs to support the os.

welps, you should upgrade it to Vista IF - you want to use Aero interface, and I sure hope your computer can handle it. If your HDD is formated to NTFS - you will be able easily upgrade it.
If you don't need all the shiny good looking stuff Vista offers - I'd stick to XP. There are not THAT many differences in the core. For the office use - XP will be more than perfect, and right now it is extremely cheap.

Easy Answer, DON'T upgrade either Windows or Office, well not until Microsoft insist that it is available in the UK for no more than is being charged for in the US. It is time to stand together and show Mr Gates that we are not going to be taken for a ride again.

You shouldn't - at least not for a year or so anyway. Like all other Microsoft products, wait 12 months until all the end users call Microsoft with fixes to the bugs in their programmes - Microsoft never bother putting out a good product first time round, why should they when so many people will fix the problems for them!

i offered an identical pc in simple terms it became a HP a1630n and whilst attempting to acquire the Vista improve, the outdoors web site distributor whom Microsoft makes use of, would not enable me acquire the improve. i'm happy now that i did no longer improve to Vista, from what I even have heard it particularly is barely a splendor difference and takes up extra of your memory and bytes. on the minute it is not nicely surely worth the attempt.

Now I would upgrade but I would wait about a month or so after it comes out to make sure there isn't too many issues with the Operating System, but no matter what there can be issues with it.
