I feel so stupid for not asking my midwife this yesterday, but I seriously want to know, and totally forgot while i was there.

Did your vagina feel like it was getting bigger the more pregnant you got? Or was it like a just before labor thing? Or was it just through the whole pregnancy?

THe baby is already dropped and engaged, so I know its pressure from that, and probably vericose veins too. Its not like he's falling out or anything, it just feels like theres a gaping hole down there thats always getting bigger.

What causes that? Just the weight of the baby? Certainly iam not dialating (iam only 35 weeks) or anything yet.... I wasnt at 33 weeks.

What do you think?

No answers from the sickos. Although iam sure there are pleanty of creepy answers people could think of. I mean it as an innocent question. pervs.

When I was pregnant with my daughter only 4 months ago; I only felt that way when I was a month away from my due date. I never made it to my due date though she was born 3 weeks early.

I remember feeling that when I was pregnant with both my boys. Right about 35 weeks I felt like all the weight of the baby was pushing down on my vagina. At times I felt these sharp little pains up inside. My Dr said it was all normal. Just from the pressure the baby was exerting on the cervix. My Dr said also that is what starts the effacement too. It helps with thinning the cervix even if you aren't beginning to dialate yet. You're in the home stretch hon!!! Good luck and congrats to you!!!

Something you need to remember is that your pelvis is spreading too. Your whole everything feels bigger, and not just because of weight gain. You are coming close to the end and your body is getting ready for it. It is likely that you are starting to efface and maybe even begin to dilate. With all three of my kids I was dilated to 2 or 2.5 for three to five weeks before i delivered. You are probably feeling as though you have a soccer ball wedged between your knees which is all pressure from the baby. Being that you are just now 35 weeks, the baby will now put on the weight. I hate to babble too much. I hope all goes well and you have a very happy and healthy baby. Just remember to breathe....my midwife wanted to smack me with my first because i kept forgetting to breathe.

I'm 39 weeks and I can't say that I have had that feeling. I do feel a lot of pressure down there though but that's because the babys head is engaged. It just feels a little sore. Also you could be dialting I was dialted 1cm at 37weeks and I know you can walk around dilated for a while. Good luck. Your little one may be here sooner than you think.

Ms Mojo has it right...although when you're in labor and pushing you'll wish it would just fall out ;-) Spreading hips, body working on dilation (even if you don't show as dilation, those chemicals are already at work, little bit at a time)

Seriously, you have a midwife, and I'll bet she's going to be a big help. Good luck with your delivery.

i think its just pressure from the baby. and when your pregnant you do usually have more room in your vagina as the cervix closes and all. i think its normal nothing to worry about. and i also feel like that a little like im puffy down there. and i am 33 wks.but if it really consernce you you could ask your mid wife or doctor to be sure .

Get ready for another 3 or more weeks of fun. I had the same feeling, like something was going to fall out of me. Unfortunately, the little man sat tight for another 3 weeks so nothing fell out. I don't know if you're actually getting larger, but I know the feeling is normal.

That means that you are dialating......your body starts to prepare weeks ahead of time....your vagina doesnt just dialate all the sudden(most of the time i guess it happens to some women) BUt for most they dialate to a 2 or 3 anywhere from their 35 week to their D-day...its just your bodys way of preparing...you'll be gratfull it did other than stretching to a 10 all at once.
Good luck your getting close!

I know what you mean. I thought the same thing. I thought my daughter would just fall out of me if I walked at times. That is your pelvis spreading and widening for the baby to pass through your birth canal. You are okay!! :)
