Will the recipients of my gifts realize how dark my mood has been this holiday season? Will they recognize this as a desperate cry for help....
or not even give the black Xmas paper a second look as they rip through it to get to their presents?

I know, right? Who knew they even MADE black Christmas paper? I bought it at Borders Books last night! It has a faint silver pattern on it that vaguely resembles a reindeer. But it is overwhelmingly black. I saw it and it spoke to me...
what can I say?

They'll rip through the paper without so much as a sigh or meaningful glance in your direction. Later when they reflect upon all that the season means to them, they'll wish that you'd given them a puppy instead.

I would look at it crazy if I was handed a gift wrapped in black.. My christmas mood is black too, my husband of 1 yr, boyfriend of 3 has decided he wants to move back to his country, that fuked my entire holiday spirit, but best of wishes...

People can be really dense, they probably won't notice ...unless you draw skeletons on the gifts or something like that ;)

...Where do you buy black gift wrapping paper anyway? I've never seen any in the Christmas products alley :p

They will notice. Whether they say something or not is another question.

I will say that my daughter, who is in college, would think it was great to get a gift wrapped in black paper.

my money is on the ripping of the paper with no acknowledgment of the black mood

They might just come to consider that you were in a bad mood when you were wrapping their gift...or they won't open it at all!!

I think they'll notice... maybe the act of giving your friends something nice will help you cheer up though...

They'll think it's strange but I don't think they'll associate it to your mood or to desperate cries for help; try talking to them.
