I do not hide the fact that I am pro life. So people confront me occasionally. They always mention rape and women who would die if their children were not aborted. So now I am asking you. Are these people citing the 1% to justify the 99% or are these seemingly extreme excuses for abortion more common than I knew?

Their arguments need to be turned back on them. They talk about rape, incest, and health of the mother, so just ask them, "If we agreed to abortions for these circumstances, would you agree to stop all other abortions?" They will not agree. If we could get them to agree, we could stop 99% of all abortions. While it's not 100%, it's surely a lot better than what we have now. But the fact of the matter is, they don't care about the 1% so much as they do about the 99% who get abortions because they want to.

When I debate abortion, I don't mention rape, incest or health. I mention pregnant women where the father didn't want to know and who are psychologically, emotionally and financially unable to cope with a baby at the time. This puts the mother and the baby at risk of mental health issues and abuse.

I had an abortion at 10 weeks. At the time it was traumatic and awful and even now I still think about it, but I'm not sorry and I don't regret it. I couldn't give a damn what others think, especially if their beliefs come from a religious aspect. So sue me.

What's the point of intefering with another woman's life? Do you have no control over your own, so you have to go and ask a woman her personal reasons for getting a medical procedure? I'm pro-choice and I don't cite the rape/incest/health because they are only 3 of many valid reasons a woman would want to get an abortion.
(And by the way, do you people realize how often women are raped in this country and in the rest of the world? You wouldn't believe it.)

Pro-choice & Pro-life. I am now Pro-choice, before I never thought about this issue until the decision faced my wife & I, I will tell you our story.
We waited about two years after our marriage, to make sure we were financially and emotionally ready for a child. When we heard the great news from our doctor, we were both estatic.
During my wife pregancy we all took precautions and she went to all doctor's appointments. One day I arrived home after hard days work, I found my wife unconscious on the kitchen floor. I called 911, EMT check her blood sugar it was extremely low. A tube of glucose was given, she regained consciousness. She was unconscious for over 6 hours.
She was taken to Stanford Medical Center.Emergency, was in ICU for 3 days. Her blood sugar very very unstable, she was diagnosis with diabetes. During her stay in ICU, adviced of five Doctors was to terminated the pregancy. Because of my wife being unconscious 6 hrs was it was a good chance the baby will be unhealthy or abnormal. Its was a hard decision for her, but I supported any decisions.

If it happened to your family is not 99% or 1% it is 100%
