Why do girl wear makeup?

Is it because they're uncomfortable and unsatisfied with who they are as a person?

not as all!!! I wear hardly any makeup during the day. Just a little blush, mascara and lipgloss. At night I make it a little more glamourous. I'm not uncomfortable with who I am. I proudly march around in the morning and bed time in front of my roommates and bf with little to know makeup on. makeup is all about enhancing your natural beauty to feel more glamourous and sexy. I feel sexy without it but when I get my makeup done or do it for a party I feel so amped up. I do it because it's fun. :-)

I use a foundation that has sunscreen in it to protect my skin from the sun. I like wearing make up b/c it makes me feel better, I am very comfortable without it but just prefer to wear it not b/c I am uncomfortable or unsatisfied with myself, makeup doesn't cover up what's inside the person which is really what counts the most.

I wear makeup to look attractive and presentable. I don't think makeup is about some deep-rooted psychological or emotional problems. It's about feeling and looking your best. Nearly all women look better with makeup...just look at pictures of celebrities with "naked" faces. It's not too pretty, and they are among the most beautiful people in the world. If a person feels good without makeup, then that's great, but there is nothing wrong with wearing it. Also, why limit your question to makeup? Why not ask: Why do men wear clothing that fits properly? Why do people wear deodorent and perfume? Why do people wash their hair? Why do women wear shoes and not slippers? Because in my opinion, none of these things is much different than wearing makeup.

You tell me "What will be the difference between men and women if both have same ways to think , behave and present themselves except for their physical appearence which nature made with out their will ?" Make_up is a a gorgeous oppurtunity avalible to a woman of today to help full fill the need of her withborn instinct to b praised by gettin good looks. I think that a woman who never uses any of make_up either dont have it or either is sick or care less of her self . I dont use too much or m without any of it of at home but out side i do to make my hubby realize that even i can do good make_up to get more highlighted features which seem good even without any of it. I use make_up to enhance by big black (no match) beautiful eyes n my nicely curved lips n a v litl of light coloured oil free foundation (some times not always). So i m very satisfied as a person thats why i m encouraged do get more beautiful looks of me day aftr day.

I enjoy applying it for the most part. If I didn't I doubt I would wear it. And of course, some makeup has other added benefits--protection from wind and sun, moisturizing, etc.

People forget that it's also an art form. Hence the term "makeup artist."

No. for me wearing make up is to ENHANCE what you already have and not ADD or CREATE an "additional" feature because if that is what you do then you will probably end up looking like a CLOWN. Makeup is just for highlighting your best features and it also is a sign of a woman taking good care of herself. Just be sure to keep it on the minimum and according to the occassion.

To make themselves more attractive to the male, which increases their chances of getting one some other girl wants. It's a competition thing. We all want to look a little better, but us men can't wear lipstick and eyeshadow like you girls can. It's not yet socially acceptable but give it time. Make up is not to hide yourself, I use make up to accentuate the good features on my face. Such as my eyes, and the soft curve of my lips. I'm not 'unsatisfied' with who I am. Make up has been used for centuries.

no, not at all. some days i wear absolutely no makeup, sometimes i put a little bit on, sometimes i like to get all dolled up. i'm completely satisfied with my looks, i just love makeup and i love to wear it sometimes. it makes me feel beautiful sometimes because i am enhancing my natural features, and then there are times when i just dont feel like wearing it. i wear it for myself, not to change anyone's opinion about my looks or anything.
