There is always a chance that it can happen all over again and it probably will, but we still are unsure of the life-cycle of a Universe. There must be more than one Universe.
There was one answer that said that Jesus Christ created the Galaxy in seven days. There are some people who do not even know the Bible that they preach. The Bible states that God created the Universe and the seven days is just a metaphor to cover the time involved. Jesus is the son of God and not God.
As far as turning into furniture, we will be much less than furniture through another Big Bang. In fact, the ball of matter is created through a super heating process and we will long be disintegrated before the ball is completed.
Take care,
Troy

Big Bang yes Big Crunch no. A Big Crunch would suggest that you could travel in time, that everything that ever happened could go in reversed. That would mean we would exist before evolution , a simple contradiction. The more likely conslusion is that we exist or have expanded into another universe which we can't see nor can they. A Big Bang can happen any where at anytime. But we would know that it is happening. Just like we don't know that the Universe is expanding from our point of view. Our sky looks the same to use.

1) Yes. If there was once was one, there WILL be another. It will be a long while off though.
2) Do you mean EXplosion or IMplosion? the big bang was an EXplosion.

With our current understanding, the answer is YES, it can, but it probably won't! It was once believed that the universe would eventually stop expanding and proceed to collapse under the force of universal gravity...back into the form it was just before the initial "big bang". Recent observations indicate the rate of expansion is actually accelerating...so there might not be enough gravity to cause it to collapse.
But it would need to collapse FIRST before there could be another "big bang"....at least, so says the theory.

For our universe, there can be no next big bang, without a big crunch first. Your office furniture already contains molecules that were once part of other people...no new big bang is necessary.

There just might be another one. Our sun isn't gonna stay "normal" forever. It will eventually go to Red Giant, growing bigger, and possibly burning up the first two or three planets. then supernova, wiping out nearly the entire solar system. That is is closest we will get to another big bang.

Indeed.
Once the universe expands, it will then retract into the "big crush"
This will culminate in another big bang.
As far a office furniture goes, only a parallel universe would know.

If the string theorists are right and the universe is just one big brane amongst many, and the big bang happened where 2 branes collided, then yes, it could happen again.
But who knows?

for a discussion of branes and string theory (and your question), i highly recommend The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time & the Texture of Reality by Brian Green(e?). he explains complex ideas in plain language for the intelligent layperson. great book

Eventually all matter, light and energy will be absorbed by black holes and black holes absorb black holes until eveything is a black hole which explodes again.. or implodes and everything takes place from a minus perspective which would basically be explode
