Sims 2 doesn't seem to run well on my computer:
Windows XP OS
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor
512 MB RAM

The graphics card I can't remember off the top of my head but it doesn't seem to be a problem. When I play the game loading times between starting the game and closing it down and saving game is really slow(up to 15 minutes). Anyone know what my problem might be? Could it be the RAM? I've had the game for more than a year now gathering dust in its box but still got the urge to play it and buy the nightlife expansion.

The biggest problem is that after playing a family for about 10 minutes saving the game takes up to 15 minutes. However loading up the game for the first time is easy.

Defragment your hard drive. You should see a noticable speed increase. Adding custom content can also cause decreased game speed. Your memory is sufficient as long as it isn't shared with graphics memory (on-board graphics). I load to neighborhood screen in about 3 minutes with University, Nightlife, and Open for Business installed.
Windows XP Home
Pentium 4 3.0 GHz dual core
1 GB RAM
ATI Radeon X1300 All-In-Wonder 2006 256MB

When I used to play Sims 2 on my older computer, I would have problems with slow loading. But I also noticed something else. I don't know if this problem happens with you, but after I would play for a while it would start really slowing down. I would save, close the game and restart it and it would run much better. I hope that maybe this will help you out a little.

sure and sure. i'm also a vista consumer and it 100% works. even with the actual incontrovertible reality that in the initiating there's a message about the compatibility yet you are able to purely ignore about it and bypass on. appreciate playing The Sims 2

I had some trouble until I remembered they recommend that you shut down background apps, especially anti-virus programs. When I did that - no more trouble! I have an Athlon processor, but 512 MB Ram, as well.

The loading time on my computer is really slow as well (5-15 min. usually). I usually read, draw, or do homework while I wait for mine to load.
