What you really want to do is convert .GVI (Google video) to .AVI.
Download gvi2avi. It's free software and does an excellent job convert your .GVIs to AVI. Google 'gvi2avi to find a download site.

Not sure what .gvp is. I'm assuming it's a video format that your camera records in. Try using Nero Vision 4 .. or maybe Roxio.

if that's the google video you should use one of the "save google video" (type that into google) websites that will save it to FLV, then you can find gobs of FLV to AVI convertors on line.
