I would love to be a best-selling author, someone like Grisham, but not writing the crap he writes.
Great authors can do more good than politicians, who have to toady up to the people who put them in office.
Authors can shape a country's future, because they have a greater and more loyal following.
"Notes from a Hunter's Album" by Turgenov was widely acknowledged to have been the catalyst for the Russian Revolution in 1917, because the book documented the abject poverty of the Russian farmer and encouraged them to take up arms.
It's widely accepted that Balzac was responsible for the French Revolution.
Year later, Zola's famous article, "L'accuse" in Le Monde during the infamous Dreyfuss affair brought down the government of the day.
These days, best-selling authors don't have the stomach for a fight.
They're all too busy counting their money.
Pity.

I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's but if I could a day or a month or something like that, I'd want to be George W. Bush just so I could see up close and personal how difficult it must be to lead a nation.

I would love to be Bill Gates at 20 years old and go through the whole saga of taking the world over with Microsoft. This would be fun.

No, all the people I love, love me as I am... all the people that hate me, it's because of what I am... I wouldn't give up what I have to risk ruining another persons life... we all are best at being us...
