I think the cure for this would be to get rid of him. Anyone that will lie to you couldn't possably love you , he wouldn't lie to you if he loved you so you are better off without him. There are men out there that can tell the truth and would be good to you.

You saying he agrees with you means nothing. A sociopath will go along with you and can pretend to be what you want Do I believe he is a socio? Well you havent given much detail so I dont think anyone here can give you proper advice. you are not a psychiatrist. Give more detail EDIT thanks for the details. Please do not listen to Leolidez. If this guy is a sociopath I would say do not stay with him at all. Do you know most serial killers are sociopaths? And the title of "sociopath" aside, since he is controlling you need to beware

The "Cure" certainly in this context is to let him know you cannot deny a lie and step rapidly away from the situation.

Social disorders are not meant to be CURED by one so involved, nor is it likely that any "Treatment" you apply will have long term effects... Other than perhaps distancing yourself as an example of side effects of what "His" behavior causes.

Once a liar always a liar. Why would you want a deceiving controlling freak? You cannot cure them and they love basking in trouble, which is not normal. They are people who need help and rarely go get it because their fantasy world is so much molded to their lifestyle...
Run from him which means go forward without him at a fast pace. Peace is so much nicer. You have to live with your decisions the rest of your life...

Dump him. Change your name & address so he won't find you if he's truly a sociopath you may be in danger...

If he's just a compulsive liar he doesn't quite qualify as a sociopath, just a typical man (tee hee I'm just kidding. There are some honest men out there). Dump him either way. You can't have a relationship with someone you can't trust.

is he truely a sociopath or just a compulsive liar.
if he is a sociopath, he won't care how you feel and possibly indifferent if you dump him.
if he is a cumpulsive liar, then take everything he says to be a lie. and if that is true, then what is the point of investing any time with him.

He sounds more pathological than sociopath. He would much rather tell a lie, than the truth. Let him go to hell in his own way. Don't walk the path with him.

My ex turned out to be a habitual liar. It will only get worse. Lying about stolen money, unpaid bills, tax fraud with the IRS. DUMP HIM AND DON'T MARRY HIM.

he'll obviously be on the republican ticket in '08 for something important, eh? ;-) that should keep him busy. a more grounded approach would be for him to go into counselling to address his fear based issues. a rare strategy for the ego ridden.
