When your computer freezes up, hit CTL ALT DEL and find out what is running when your computer freezes up. Then decide if the offending program can be altered or removed from your computer by Going to My Computer - Add and Remove Programs. Next take a look at your internet expolorer if it is IE based, consider downloading Mozilla Based Explorer such as Firefox. Also there are freeware programs that assist in cleaning your harddrive. I use Ad Aware to de clogg the data-mining, advertising, and tracking devices that clog up performance.
