I usually answer the phone speaking in Spanish. But here was this newspaper co. that kept calling my house no matter what language I spoke to them in. One night, they called when I had my sister over, I had her yelling in the background, "Didn't I tell you not to answer the fukkin phone! I don't want you on the fukkin phone!". Then she made smacking noises as if she were hitting me, and I kept screaming, "mommy, don't hit me, mommy!". It sounded like she was beating my azz. And they haven't called since. :-D

Upon receiving a call from a phone number I do not recognize they go to my voicemail where they get to hear a recording of my voice asking solicitors to lose my phone number.

I screen all my calls so I never have to deal with them. I work with people who will answer the phone and put it down, then go about what they were doing - meanwhile, the solicitor is talking and talking - to no one. After about 30 minutes, they hang up their phone. :)

Those guys are *so* annoying... they're always trying to sell me insurance [that I soo don't need] for my credit card....
When they call I just say I'm not interested, then I hang up "politely". Or I hand the phone to my father, who is very scary :p
[If you used to watch "Friends", I sound just like Chandler saying "I want to quit the gym!"]

Try to sell something to them or see if they would like to do something for you...lol, they'll quickly get off the phone and won't be calling back every 2 hrs as usual.

When my kids were 3 or 4 years old we would hand them the phone!
Now we use caller id and just don't answer the phone.

I tell them that im getting ready to serve a 30 year prison sentence for bank robbery but to go ahead and send me one.
For some odd reason I never recieve anything.

It depends. If they keep making a pain of themselves and continue to call, I scream into the phone to quit calling, then sound off a sports horn. lol

Ask for their home phone number so I can call them back later when it is more convienient for me.
They ALWAYS hang up on me, and that is the result I want!
