It is bad form to watch TV whilst eating, as (especially on christmas day) eating is supposed to be a social occasion. Given the choice, I'd go for the turkey.

I used to be able to gobble my turkey but I'm not so supple now so the dog gobbles it for me

Please don't gobble your turkey it's not something you should do with livestock - it's illegal (let alone bad manners) whether you're watching the Queen or not!!!

You should gobble beforehand, then fall alseep during the speech - with your paper hat falling over your eyes!! That's what my dad does anyway...
