I read somewhere that you can hear the fetal heartbeat at around 22 weeks with a stethoscope. I am not sure how high-quality of a stethoscope you need, though. I priced them online and they sell for $20 or so all the way up to $400. I don't know whether a $20 would allow you to hear it or not?

Anyway, by 22 weeks you will be able to feel your baby do somersaults, kicks, and turns, etc., and you may not be as inclined to need to hear the heartbeat.

When I was at the doctor's office, they let me use the doppler on myself at 15 weeks or so, to see if I could find the heartbeat and there was no way I could find the fetal heartrate. I only picked up my OWN heartbeat. It was very tricky to use, but in the hands of someone experienced, they found it after 5 mins or so.

some books say which you will hear somewhat one's heartbeat with a stethoscope commencing around week 20, yet inspite of my husband's soft cardiac stethoscope he makes use of at artwork, i could no longer hear my infant's heartbeat until i became 35 weeks! If I have been you, except you have an quite soft stethoscope, i does not attempt it only yet; you will only situation your self. you're nevertheless incredibly early directly to be fearful approximately circulation, additionally. At 19 weeks, many females have not even began to experience circulation yet. it is commonplace to pass a pair days without feeling circulation at your point. whether, in case you're rather fearful truthfully call your healthcare expert and that they are in a position to verify the heart beat with a doppler. i'm helpful each little thing is fantastic, although. i began out feeling circulation from my infant at 18 weeks pregnant and did no longer initiate feeling consistent varieties to my infant's circulation until i became 25 weeks or so.

My doctor said it could be done but its hard for it to be done. The baby has to be positioned just right for you to hear the heartbeat with a stethoscope. If it were easy, a doctor would just use a stethscope to hear the heartbeat.
