Is it justified to use animals in scientific experiment?

We've accomplished a lot through animal experiments, but it's a difficult moral subject.

The crux of the debate can be summed up like this: We use animals in experiments to learn about ourselves. This is possible because many animals' biologies are very similar to our own. Yet we use animals for experiments because sometimes these experiments have negative consequences to which we wouldn't want to subject another human. So: Animals are useful in biomedical science because they're simultaneously similar to us and different from us. Whether or not we use them, it rests on how close to ourselves we feel that the line between human and animal is drawn.

I don't see anything wrong with animal experimentation in areas of medical and technology reasons, like you mentioned. I do, however, not agree with the fact that some animals are experimented upon for products such as make-up.

NEVER, If people want to find away to survive a plauge, use people, why not? Animals feel pain just as much as we do, and it only benefits us in the long run. Let us suffer to help us. Leave the animals out of our problems.

NOT REALLY JUSTIFIED WHAT DID THEY DO HOWEVER BETTER THAN ANY OF US, BUT WHAT ABOUT PRISION INMATES ON DEATH ROW WHO ARE JUST USING TAX PAYER DOLLARS UP TILL THEY DIE MIGHT AS WELL USE THEM TO POSSIBLY SAVE LIVES!!!
