What's so great about democracy? Hitler was democratically elected, as were the fanatics running the worst mideast states today. George W. Bush was also democratically elected. I think the real reason Bush and Cheney love democracy is because of their (probably correct) believe that money buys elections, so the wealthy can "own" democratic countries, which is the case in the USA.

This probably isn't the most ignorant question I have seen here, but it is in the top 10. There are so many factual errors I have neither the time nor patience to list them all.

We are not at war with any other government. We are at war with a group of people who have nothing but hatred for the "infidels" (you and me) and will be willing to give their own life for the purpose of taking another life with theirs. We are not moving into Iraq as a conquering force. We have removed a regime that was lending aid and comfort to those who want to kill us - those who have already drawn first blood by killing American people on AMERICAN SOIL. Talk about close to home.

As for blasting Bush/Cheney as being the wealthy power buying polititians, there are more wealthy democrats in our government than republicans. Money can buy political postion but the cycle of republican and democrat power shifts will go on as long as we remain a democratic society. And in the end, not a single thing will change because of that constant balance shift.

If you need to ask "whats so great about democracy", then I submit that you need to take your civics and world history courses over again and study this time. These other regimes that you equated with democracy ceased to be democracies. I really don't think we are in danger of becoming a nazi state here. We have all the checks and balances in place to see that we remain free. It is the liberal faction that is seeking to remove freedoms one by one from under our very noses. They spin their agenda to make it seem as though what they are proposing is good for all of society while padding their own pockets and securing their political futures at the expense of us all. (This is on both sides of the aisle by the way.)

It isn't convenient. Homelessness, common well being care, race members of the family...all of our flaws they don't seem to be lovely however there they're there. The hindrance of battle crimes is a difficult one. Nobody must be above the regulation. The perpetrators of Abu Graib had been punished, others are as good. For all of the dangerous each person forgets or ignores the well. Good information does now not excite humans like dangerous information. During the Tsunami of Banda Ache (forgive my spelling) The US Navy grew to become out to furnish remarkable humanitarian comfort given that it used to be the correct factor to do. No ulterior reason simply support the humans in want.

I believe you are correct. Democracy is a sham. Also, you are using the sales verbage of the media shills. We are not "allowing" them to have democracy. We are attempting to impose it. How do you impose an ideological structure which requires volitional public support to function on a people who have every reason to never want to participate???!!! What hubris!
