The last 2 days our water has been dripping (no joke) out of our faucets. I asked my boyfriend what was wrong and he said our filter is clogged. Is that the case? I can't take a shower or ever water the dog, wash clothes or anything. I was thinking that maybe it was just the water pressure, but it's not coming out at all at times. What could it be and how much does this cost to fix? I looked on-line, but the filters range from 150 - 3000. We have well water too. Keep that in mind. It's not a very big tank. Enough for 1 or 2 people to take showers with hot water.

There should be a "bypass" line near your filter. (two valves one on each side of the filter) close both of these and unscrew the bottom of the filter there should be a wrench hanging on the wall near the filter. Pull out old filter, and screw base back on. you will have water just not filtered. take old filter to home depot or other store get a new one and install. BUT this may not be the problem, im thinking that your well pump may be bad.

I'm not completely sure I understand all of what you're saying, but a old or bad filter can indeed obstruct or even block water flowing to the house. I too have a well, and a filter system. I assume you have a filter system by what you've said, and if so, you should examine your filter to see if it needs replacement. I'm not sure what kind of filter you have that costs 150 to 3000 to replace! My filter costs 10 dollars for two. My system is designed for a family household, and I have to replace the filter about every 4 months. Seems you must have a very sophisticated system for such a small water tank. I could buy many, many systems for 3000 dollars. Maybe I missed something though. Anyway, the filter should be checked.

Good luck

It does look a bit wasteful, and does not harm the water high-quality in any respect, and I realize a well purpose, the filters that set up within the refrigerator are fairly luxurious, mine are $35. He might desire to pre-clear out the water to maintain the inner clear out. When it got here time to switch my clear out I removed the inner clear out, hooked up an inline cartridge and clear out for $30 that had $10 substitute filters with the identical (10 micron) clear out density however a lot better quantity of gallons that may be filtered.

Why don't you look at your filter assembly and see how it comes apart. Typically the round section on the bottom will unscrew counter clockwise. Then you can take the filter down to the hardware store and get a replacement.
