No one did. The fact may be that it was raided and robbed a few times before being moved from the original burial tomb. The good thing about that was huts were built above his tomb and for centuries no one even knew the boy King was buried there. King Tut died somewhere around 1300 bc (not the exact date.) He was found in the 1920's and has been on display around the world since. Currently King Tut and some artifacts from his tomb are on display in Chicago and will probably move to Pennsylvania or Florida. Some find the King tut display deceptive because it also contains artifacts from previous and later kings.

What do you mean? It's still there. But there have been grave robbers for millenia. No one knows who stole what out of those tombs.

The rubble was removed by hand by 100s of Egyptian labourers.
