Joel Zumaya of the Detroit Tigers has been clocked on the Juggs Gun at between 103-104 mph and Jennie Finch has pitched a softball at I believe 74 mph. The obvious difference in speeds is the size of the ball and that the softball must be pitched underhanded whereas the baseball is pitched overhanded.

Zumaya and Verlander from the Detroit Tigers and Bobby Jenks of the White Sox I know have gotten over 100 mph in the last year. Randy Johnson may have done it years ago but he needs a wheelchair and a cane now. Jennie Finch is the girl for softball. She can throw to me or at me anytime.

Justin Verlander andJoel Zumaya of the Detroit tigers routinely hit 100 miles per hour. The fastest female pitcher that I have heard of was Michelle Grainger (USA '96 Olympic Team) at 72 mph

Who knows? Different radar guns get different readings. Zumjaya is the guy who comes to mind as the current pitcher who seems to get the highest readings on a consistent basis, but that might just be the Tigers adjusting their gun a little to psyche out the other team. :-)

Currently? I know Billy Wagner (closer, Mets) has hit 100 mph. There are some other guys who have cleared 100, but he's the only one I can think of.
Softball: I can't think of the name of the Team USA pitcher, but I heard she was clocked in the high 70s. (Although anyone up on the college scene may know of someone faster.)
